Tosin Eniolorunda is a Nigerian software engineer and entrepreneur, the co-founder and group chief executive of the financial technology company Moniepoint. He started the business as TeamApt in 2015 with Felix Ike, and it has since grown into a banking and payments network that investors valued as a unicorn in 2024.
Why he is in the news
Moniepoint reached unicorn status after a US$110 million investment in 2024 and raised a further US$200 million in October 2025, which brought attention to its chief executive. Profiles describe him as unusually hands-on with product, and the company’s own story is told largely through his decisions.
Early career
Public profiles say he grew up in Ibadan, was apprenticed at an electronics workshop at 16, and studied mechanical engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University. After university he worked as a software engineer at Interswitch, one of Nigeria’s major payments companies, where he saw how banks bought and ran payment software.
