Samsung launched the Galaxy S26 FE in September 2026 as the lower priced entry in the Galaxy S26 family. In the United States it starts at US$699.99, with select carrier availability from 3 September and wider availability from Samsung, carriers and retailers from 4 September.
The S26 FE keeps the core Fan Edition idea: give buyers a large AMOLED display, a flagship style camera setup and current Galaxy AI features without charging the same price as Samsung’s main S26 models.

Display and design
The 6.7 inch display is one of the main reasons to consider the FE model. Samsung lists a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,900 nits, which puts it in the same general premium display category as far more expensive phones.
The phone measures 7.4mm thick and weighs 193g. It is not a compact device, but it is relatively thin for a phone with this screen size and battery capacity.
The camera setup
The 50MP main camera is paired with a 12MP ultrawide and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Samsung also lists up to 30x digital zoom.
The 12MP front camera is used for selfies and video calls. Samsung is also pushing software based camera features on this generation, including My FanCam for keeping a selected person centred during edits and an updated Super Steady mode for stabilised video.
Battery and charging
The S26 FE has a 4,900mAh battery. Samsung says it can deliver up to 29 hours of video playback, although real battery life will depend on signal quality, screen brightness, camera use and background apps.
Samsung also increased wired charging support to 45W. That is useful if you are comparing it with older FE models, where charging speed was often one of the compromises compared with the main Galaxy S line.
What does FE mean?
FE stands for Fan Edition. Samsung uses the label for phones that borrow parts of its flagship experience while making tradeoffs in areas such as processor choice, materials or camera hardware to hit a lower price.
That makes the S26 FE most useful to buyers who want the Galaxy software experience and a large high refresh rate display but do not need every premium feature from the regular S26 range.
Price and availability
Samsung lists the US starting price at US$699.99. The company sells the phone in 128GB and 256GB versions in the US. Regional configurations differ, so storage, colours and pricing can vary outside the United States.
In South Korea, Samsung launched a 256GB version at 1,045,000 won. That is a good reminder not to convert the US price directly into another market and assume that will be the local retail price.
Should you buy the Galaxy S26 FE?
The strongest reasons are the display, the familiar Samsung software experience and the fact that the phone includes a dedicated telephoto camera at a price below Samsung’s main flagships.
The decision gets harder when older Galaxy models are heavily discounted. A discounted Galaxy S25 series phone can sometimes give you stronger hardware for similar money, so compare current retail prices rather than looking only at launch prices.
