Robinhood Agents are AI trading tools built directly into the Robinhood app. They can analyse markets, build trading strategies and, if the user allows it, place trades automatically.
Robinhood announced the expanded in-app product at its September 2026 HOOD Summit after first opening agentic trading connections to third-party AI systems earlier in the year.
This is an explainer, not investment advice. Automated trading can lose money quickly, and an AI-generated strategy is not guaranteed to be profitable.
What can a Robinhood Agent do?
Robinhood says an agent can research the market, analyse a portfolio, create a strategy and execute trades within the limits of its dedicated account.
The user starts by naming the agent, choosing an AI model and defining controls.
Does the agent get access to all your money?
No, not automatically.
Robinhood says its built-in agent uses a dedicated agentic trading account, and the agent can only access funds placed in that account.
This is an important risk boundary because an error should not automatically give the agent access to every asset in a user’s broader Robinhood account.
Does Robinhood ask you to approve trades?
Manual trade approval is available and is the default setting during setup, according to Robinhood.
Users can change that setting. Turning approvals off creates more automation but also removes a human review point before orders are placed.
What are Robinhood Loops?
Loops are standing instructions that allow an agent to repeat a strategy.
Robinhood gives examples such as checking the market each morning and trading only when specified conditions are met.
A Loop can also run overnight or repeatedly until the user turns it off.
Which AI models can Robinhood Agents use?
Robinhood says users can choose from models provided by leading AI labs, including OpenAI.
Model availability and pricing can change as the product rolls out.
What are Agent Apps?
Agent Apps are optional specialist data sources and tools that can be connected to a Robinhood Agent.
Robinhood announced products from providers covering options activity, investor sentiment, congressional trading, crypto fundamentals, weather data, satellite imagery and social-market narratives.
Many of these add-ons have separate monthly subscription prices.
Can an AI trading agent make mistakes?
Yes.
AI models can misunderstand data, hallucinate explanations, react to noisy information or create a strategy that performs badly in real markets.
Automating an incorrect strategy can multiply the impact because the same mistake can be repeated without a person pausing before every trade.
Are Robinhood Agents guaranteed to beat the market?
No. Robinhood does not guarantee profitable returns from AI trading.
Access to more data or faster analysis does not remove market risk, liquidity risk or the possibility of losses.
How many people already use agentic trading?
Robinhood said more than 150,000 customers had opened agentic trading accounts after its earlier developer-focused launch.
The company also said agents were making tens of millions of daily tool interactions by the September summit.
What else did Robinhood announce?
The same event included plans for 24/7 equities trading including weekends, perpetual futures for eligible users, earnings-related prediction products and expanded social features.
Some features are rolling out gradually or remain subject to regulatory review.
Is Robinhood Agents available outside the US?
The current product announcement is focused on eligible US customers.
Robinhood operates in other markets, but users should not assume agentic trading is available in their country simply because the main Robinhood app is.
What safety settings make sense?
Anyone experimenting with automated trading should understand the dedicated account limit, keep manual approvals on until they understand the behaviour, start with money they can afford to lose, and monitor any repeating instructions.
AI can automate execution. It cannot make investment risk disappear.
