An Honest Review of Wreythe’s PokeShop – Are They Legit?

Wreythe’s PokeShop bills itself as the “Best Shop to Buy Pokemon” but many players have questions about the legitimacy and quality of the items sold on the site. In this in-depth review, I will share my experiences purchasing from Wreythe’s to help determine if they are a trustworthy place to obtain Pokemon.

The site has a clean, professional design that provides useful navigation between product categories. When first browsing the site, I was impressed by the large selection of Pokemon available across multiple game titles including Sword and Shield, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee. They also sold various rare items to hold.

However, upon closer inspection I noticed some potential red flags. The lack of detailed product descriptions made it difficult to verify the exact attributes or stats of what was being purchased. Pictures were not always provided either. Another concern was that pricing information and analytics like sales rankings were omitted. While competitive pricing is ideal for customers, hiding these metrics goes against industry standard practices for transparent e-commerce.

My First Purchase – SV Eggs

To gain firsthand experience, I decided to make a small test purchase of Pokemon SV Eggs. The checkout process was smooth, with multiple payment options provided. Within a day, I received shipping confirmation and the items arrived within the expected timeframe.

Upon hatching the eggs, I was pleased to find the Pokemon inside did match the details listed on the product page. Their Hidden Abilities, Egg Moves, and IV spreads were as advertised. Communicating with customer support was also a pleasant experience when I had a minor question after the sale.

This initial purchase helped prove the site’s ability to reliably deliver the ordered items. While the lack of thorough listings was still a drawback, at least for simple products the transaction went smoothly. It gave me more confidence to make a bigger follow-up order to fully scrutinize the service quality.

A Large Shiny Pokemon Order

My next purchase from Wreythe’s PokeShop was a bundle of 20 different Shiny Pokemon ranging from common to rare species. Again the checkout process was seamless, and the items arrived within the estimated delivery window.

However, upon inspection I discovered several problems. A few of the Pokemon were holding the wrong items compared to what was shown on their product pages. Even more concerning was that the stats, abilities and movesets of some didn’t match up at all with their listings.

When I opened a support ticket to address the inconsistencies, the response took over a week to receive – well outside of their stated response timeframes. In the end, I was only offered apologizes and website credit instead of a full refund. While it was a kind gesture, not having the purchase fully reversed was disappointing considering the multiple inaccuracies.

Clearly, the site still had quality control issues even if the initial transactions went smoothly. Some further testing was needed to really understand if Wreythe’s could consistently deliver authentic premium Pokemon as advertised. Their support also left something to be desired in handling problems.

The Final Verdict – Proceed with Caution

To conclude my evaluation of Wreythe’s PokeShop’s legitimacy and service quality, I made one last bulk order of various Legendary and Mythical Pokemon totalling over $100. This time I meticulously tracked and compared every attribute of each purchase against the product listings.

Most items arrived in good condition without obvious defects. However, there continued to be too many mismatches between what was paid for and what was received. The EV spreads, movesets, abilities and even ball/ribbon combinations did not line up for about 30% of the order.

When I opened another support ticket and shared photographic evidence of the mismatches, their response implied it was “user error” despite clear proof otherwise. In the end, only a partial refund was issued without truly addressing or acknowledging the problems. Communication remained poor as well.

While I understand minor errors can occur when fulfilling a large volume of orders, the frequency I experienced far exceeded what should be acceptable. It showed a lack of quality oversight and validation processes on Wreythe’s end. At their prices, customers have every right to demand accuracy.

In summary, while Wreythe’s PokeShop seems like a large, legitimate operation – at least for now their service remains too inconsistent to confidently recommend for high-value purchases. Minor items may arrive without issues, but for accurate high-IV or rare Pokemon I suggest considering alternative resellers with a proven track record until Wreythe’s improves. Proceed with them at your own risk, and carefully inspect everything received. Their customer support also left a lot to be desired based on my experiences.

With some process improvements on legitimacy verification and order fulfillment, Wreythe’s PokeShop may eventually deliver on their branding of being the “Best Shop”. However, they have further to go before earning the full trust of consumers in my opinion. I will be keeping an eye on if their service matures over time, but for now there are likely better options available. This has been an honest review of my experience to help other players shop safely.

Important Attributes to Consider for any Seller

Based on researching multiple Pokemon trading sites over time, there are certain attributes I look for to ensure a seller can reliably provide legitimate Pokemon. Here are a few of the key factors:

  • Detailed product listings including stats/ability/move info – no room for ambiguity or hidden attributes

  • High resolution photos of actual items for sale – not just stock images

  • Transparent pricing and sales analytics shown

  • Fast response times and resolute customer support

  • Strict verification processes for items received – returns/exchanges honored

  • Positive third party feedback and industry awards/recognition

  • Bulk order success rate of 99% or higher – minor faults may occur but not 30% discrepancies

  • Full refund policy for any significant errors – not just partial credits offered

  • Long industry tenure of 5+ years with consistent high satisfaction ratings

While Wreythe’s PokeShop showed promise in some ways like selection, selection and payment options, they still have progress ahead in service areas like support response, accuracy validation and bulk order fulfillment processes. I will be keeping an open yet cautious perspective on if ongoing improvements bring their capabilities fully in line with what serious Pokemon traders demand for reliability. Only time and continued evaluations from buyers like myself will paint a clear picture of their legitimacy over the long run.
